Oddly, it took me longer to walk to where I needed to vote (two blocks) than it did waiting to vote. Whole process was about 10 minutes. Have to say, Obama's ppl have been all over VA -- I had five separate volunteers come to my door in the last week to ask if I was voting. They've been outside the Metro for the last two months registering ppl. And today, on the busy intersection in front of my Bette Porter Building in Arlington, they stood out with signs all day (and it rained) and people were honking left/right. It was slightly unnerving - seeing spontaneous hope & joy.

I'm off to watch the returns and crack open this bottle of champagne I bought this morning after voting. Hopefully it will be celebratory!
