there's a bridge in brooklyn I'd like to show you...

Enough Rome photos for now! Check out this.

Even after living here for over 10 years, I still get a little giddy going over that beautiful bridge.

That was cool! It is a beautiful bridge but I don't recommend going over on the top level of a double-decker bus when it's windy out. THAT! was scary.

Eeeeeee! That does sound scary.

I'll buy that bridge if it comes with a tree at one end. ::sigh:: My punchlines are more like swatdashes. Ah well, beautiful bridge. :)

Sometimes the feather-touch is preferable to the sledgehammer, grasshopper. :)

::even bigger sigh:: slapdash... not swatdash...

seriously.

You had to go and make me homesick!!! I get that dull little ache in my stomach whenever I see anything NYC. Or maybe I'm hungry for a bag of chestnuts and a hotdog from Sabretts. Miss it muchly.

Thanks for the pretty pics. Beautiful bridge indeed.

You're welcome! Glad you liked it.

It's weird, I never see any chestnuts on the streets in NYC. However, in Rome they were everywhere, vendors roasting chestnuts!

One of the most vivid memories I have is my mom placing a bag of roasted chestnuts under my winter coat before going in to see a movie (can't rmember which) in Manhattan. The smell was enough to send me into a happy frenzy.

Good times.

I hope before I get too old I get to go to Italy. It's one of my top 3 places on my wish list of places to visit.

I was a little concerned when the picture was suddenly black and white. Did God adjust his saturation? The bridge is gorgeous. My favourite pics were just as the sun was rising.

Hahaha...God just wanted to see who was paying attention!

That's a great shot!

It's an amazing bridge. When we were little, my parents used to take us to NY every year at Christmastime. I remember my father telling us *every single time* we saw the bridge,

"Your grandfather never forgave the Dodgers for going to LA, he used to say, (imitating his father) "...might as well tear down the Brooklyn Bridge now...no reason to cross it!" :)

Heh. There are a lot of Dodger fanatics, still, holed up in Brooklyn!

But is it ART?

Awesome set! Thanks for sharing. And since we're talking about bridges, I thought I'd show and tell my first frivolous purchase in eeeeons. Not sure what bridge it is (fictional or not?) but it makes me think of the Brooklyn bridge so I had to share. XD

I also got this one, which MIL said is London Bridge and the Tower of London.

And a gratuitous side by side:

Haven't had time to hang them yet so forgive the impromptu couch staging of the photos. :)

PS The Chrysler building is female! Just in case you were wondering... XD

she may be female, but she's packing, that's for sure. :)

Oooh, grown-up art purchases! Nice! The one on the left looks like it might pass for the Verrazano Bridge, but there are no tall buildings surrounding that bridge.
