Our Entertainment on Good Friday was a drinking game: Every time we saw or heard "Jesus" on the telly, we'd take a drink. Went through a bottle of Bordeaux. I must not have any kind of taste because, while I like red wines, I'm not keen on Bordeauxs in general. They just seem too thick and heavy to my wimpy palate.

Still, I'd like to think Jesus would have a sense of humor about these things.

Actually, I was drunk earlier in the afternoon, courtesy of a 3-martini lunch with a coworker. (It's a slow time at work...boss on vacay...yadda yadda.) I know the temptation exists to imagine my life as something out of AbFab, but this is highly unusual for me!

I'm not a huge fan of reds. I usually prefer the wimpier varieties, as well. Shiraz (love me som Australian Shiraz) is my latest, greatest obsession. We also started trying South African whites lately and I've been really impressed with them so far.

Oh yeah, Aussie shiraz rules! Normally I'm very seasonal when it comes to wine, preferring reds in fall/winter and white in spring/ summer.

The only wine I really drink seasonally is Beaujolais, other than that I pair with food or drink what I'm the mood for - most often what's cheap and decent quality, hehe.

It's a shame that the drinking games didn't make it into the new testament. "And so the Lord said unto the tavern denizens, 'Thou shalt knocketh back a shot every time the Pilate washes his hands.'"
