I wish I could convince Rachel Dratch to be my best friend.
Hahah, to the tiny piano. Do you know I've never been to Forest Hills? Most of Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island is a mystery to me. Luckily the song translates well to a Brooklyn audience.
Rachel is awesome. She needs her own TV show! NBC should have put her on 5 nights a week rather than Leno.
I think I've been to each borough once, at least. Have driven through Staten Island innumerable times, and once we got lost in Queens while driving, which was so traumatic that we both shudder at the mere thought of going or doing anything in Queens. I mean, when MoMA was in Queens you couldn't have paid me to go there.
Well, I feel like Rachel was supposed to star in 30 Rock, but NBC told Tina Fey that Rachel was too funny looking for prime time or something ridiculous like that. Not that Jane Krakowski hasn't been cracking my shit up every week, but Rachel got a bum deal.
Hahah, my mother has been confidently driving in New York City for her entire life, and the only place where she totally falls apart is on the way to LaGuardia. She always takes the wrong off ramp and gets stuck in the long term parking lot. Then there is a lot of screaming and tears and u-turns.
I almost moved to Astoria once. I was taken with a Czech beer garden up there. But then the hipsters discovered it and now the line to get in is several hours long. I mean, it's nice to drink beer outdoors, but it's not that nice.
My rule about airports is...I never drive either to or from! Because I would probably be like your mom.
Hey, my one trip to Queens was to that beer garden in Astoria. I don't remember it being overrun with hipsters at that time--it was mid/late 90s--there seemed to be a lot of families there, and we didn't have to wait to get in at all. I did like the neighborhood.
awwwww... bless... this is fantastic. I accidentally downloaded this at my uncle's funeral and had to mute it really quickly... cos apparently no matter how much you want to, giggling at funerals is a huge no-no! Fantastic stuff!!!
