The evil, lying, walking turd known as the President will be inciting nationwide Vomit in the Mouth Syndome (VIMS) with an appearance on the t00b tonight to justify the blood on his hands. Again. Break a leg, asshole.
But let's look some politicians with some common sense.

Date: 2005-06-28 11:00 pm (UTC)...but how do you really feel about him? :)
I heard he had to be coerced to address the Iraq issue tonight- he's got us into a mess he can't get us out of now. Gee, and you would have thought he might have learned something via Korea, Viet Nam etc etc. But of course, he probably cut those classes...

The truly fascinating thing about history is how we never seem to learn from it. ::sigh::

Maybe they'll serve pretzels as appetizers. ::crosses fingers::
Re: a'right 'merika, scootch a bit closer and touch yer toes
Date: 2005-06-29 04:29 pm (UTC)It's also depressing. :( I wouldn't, of course, watch Dumbass on TV...but while I was waiting for him to go away I was reading an article in the New Yorker (http://www.newyorker.com/online/content/articles/050704on_onlineonly01) about a father who lost his son in Iraq and as a result began to seriously question the war. It just feels so helpless when you know that day after day people are dying because of this man and his sheer stupidity, his incredible moral blindness (and he calls himself a Christian). And it's not going to stop.
Wah. Now I'm depressing you! Sorry.
Maybe they'll serve pretzels as appetizers.
Pretzels are our friends! Go pretzels!
Re: a'right 'merika, scootch a bit closer and touch yer toes
Date: 2005-06-29 04:41 pm (UTC)It's beyond depressing. It's enraging, demoralizing, dehumanizing. Up here, we've had two soldiers return "unharmed" from Iraq in the past few months only to go on self-destructive rampages--shooting at cops in order to get shot themselves. Families claim the actions are completely out of character. It makes me think of that Tiptree short story, Yanqui Go Home. Please, pretzel, deliver us from evil.
