My better half was throwing things at the set everytime the Rod would step up to the plate. Has he learned nothing? It doesn't matter that you have the best numbers for the season. It's all about October, stepping up and not CHOKING!!
Oh, I shouldn't be too hard on A-Rod; he wasn't the only one not coming through (Matsui, Sheffield, the Unit also come to mind). I know he was anxious and all that, but I would've thought he'd gotten past all that last year.
I woke the wife, and Mr. Bruin up when I yelled, "You fucking dumb asses!" when Bubba and Sheffield collided. That's when I turned it off and went to bed.
That collision was so fucked up. It's ironic, but if Bernie had been in there, it wouldn't have happened--'cause Bernie wouldn't have gotten anywhere NEAR the fly ball, and Sheff would've caught it! :)
Now that their season is over, the New York Yankees are likely to shop for new players over the winter. What they really should look for are new fans. -Clyde Haberman, NY Times
HaHa- I never doubted, I just happend to read that article yesterday- he was talking about the in-ball park fans anyway. deep, dark, dismal days... yeah, my Bucs have been in them for the past 5 10 years...
