Did we ever think that the Dem. nomination would drag on so long, would be such a bloody battle? I know a lot of people are thinking of sitting it out if Obama becomes the nominee. Or, worse yet, voting for the Evil Empire. ("The Yankees?" you say. NO. I mean the other Evil Empire, the really really bad warmongering one, the one that is really for elitists.)

But before any of you contemplate voting for the presumptive Republican nominee, read this article on John McCain in the New York Review of Books. Any man who calls his wife a cunt in front of a group of reporters is not someone you should be voting for.

I'm thinkin' any man who calls his wife a cunt pretty much ever should not be someone for whom you vote.

He's an ass.

I voted for Hillary way back in February, but it's getting ridiculous. Some of her rabid supporters went to the Committee yesterday and when the decision came down to split the delegate vote in half they were shouting "McCain in 08" and "NoBama." WTF?? Are these people really Democrats? I mean, what is their damage? LOL

I'm not a huge believer in party loyalty (in fact, I'm registered as an independent), but damn, I do not want that old geezer in there with his fucked-up ideas about Iraq, health care, and everything else. That fool wants us in Iraq until hell freezes over.

Although I have to confess that I am sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils, not voting at all would never occur to me.
'Sitting it out' could have repercussions we can't even imagine yet.

Additionally, I vote so that I can complain. If you choose not to vote, well, then, choose not to whine. Because you had the chance.

Too bad we can't just airbrush him out of Washington.

Bubble in '08

Me too. I mean, I voted for Kerry in the last go-around and I like him much, much less than Obama. I pretended I was voting for Teresa Heinz Kerry instead. But just as it was in '04, the alternative in this campaign is just too awful to contemplate.

Damn! It's too bad she lives London.

Can you imagine how she'd redecorate the White House?

"Oooval Office? Somebody made a bloody mess here! And get away from me! Why are these men following me everywhere? And why do I have to change out of me striped tights for a press conference... what IS a press conference? If I'm president, why do I have to press anything?"

Heh.

Voting for McCain doesn't even compare on the 2000-Nader-Voting-Scale-Of-Wrongs! All said and done, Obama and Clinton are both excellent liberal candidates with very similar records and mandates, and only a little difference here and there. For the extremes in Obama and Clinton supporters, I just want to tell them to shut up, suck it up and vote for the winner, or else line the bunkers when McCain destroys the country.

And as for McInsane's legendary chivalry, he also joked about Chelsea Clinton being the ugly daughter of Janet Reno when the poor kid was in her teens. Yeah, somebody gag that bastard.

Ugh. I didn't know he said that about Chelsea! Fucking creep.

I understand the passion and support in both camps, and I wanted Hillary to get the nomination, but...supporting McCain out of spite or some misapplied principle is a really big mistake. There is a world of difference between Obama and McCain, more so than there ever was between Obama and Clinton.

I am with you holygirl.

Ya, John McCain has his deep, dark issues, but my main motivation for staying the course with the Dems, even under the Obama banner, if that we almost have a Dem majority in the Senate and we have it in the House. Some things may be able to be accomplished for once. And maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to GET RID OF THAT DAMNMED ABSTINENCE INITIATIVE. Mygod, it still makes me so mad I could spit.

I just threw a fit on Few's blog pertaining to this issue. (not at Few, of course) just on the GOP v. Dem issue.

You call it a fit, I call it a blunt assessment of what, in all likelihood, will face voters in the fall: Another Republican presidency will be disastrous for this country and we have to do what we can to prevent that from happening.
